Robbie Hollander
Forecaster

My name’s Robbie, and I’m an avalanche forecaster visiting from Tūroa Ski Resort in New Zealand. I’m currently in Gulmarg working alongside the Gulmarg Avalanche Center and ski patrol team, sharing knowledge where I can and learning from the unique terrain and snowpack found here.

I work year-round in alpine environments with a focus on avalanche forecasting, mitigation, rescue response, and clear hazard communication. I’m genuinely stoked to be in Gulmarg—it’s an incredible place, and I’ve already been impressed by the depth of local experience and professionalism on the mountain.

I’d like to extend my sincere thanks to the Jammu & Kashmir Department of Tourism for supporting and facilitating this professional exchange.

If you see me around the hill or have questions about avalanche safety, feel free to say hi.

See you out there.
