How to read the advisory

Normal caution advised in choosing a safe route above 3000 m.  Avoid Cornices. 


  • Heightened avalanche conditions on specific terrain features. Evaluate snow and terrain carefully; identify features of concern.
  • Natural avalanches unlikely; human-triggered avalanches possible.
  • Small avalanches in specific areas; or large avalanches in isolated areas.

Steep North aspects at upper elevations may have weak wind slab deposits.
